Jurassic Park The Ride

The Ride is a water-based ride based on Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film Jurassic Park and Michael Crichton’s 1990 novel, Universal Studio in Orlando, Florida and Universal Studios in Osaka. , Japan. It was previously located at Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, California, where it was renamed Jurassic World: The Ride.

The ride was researched and produced on June 21, 1996 at Universal Studios Hollywood as the film was still in production. Copies of the rides were built by Universal Islands Adventure and Universal Studios as the Jurassic Park River Adventure in Japan. The River Rapids Ride Edition, Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, opened in 2010 at Universal Studios Singapore.

Inspiration

The ride was inspired by a scene from Michael Crichton’s 1990 novel as Alan Grant, Lex Murphy and Tim Murphy attempt to return to the viewing center on the inflated boat. Tyrannosaurus Rex, the boat chaser, uses elements such as two baby raptors (novel) / compsacnatus (pictured), a pair of tilophosorus on the riverbank, and a drop / ride (novel) on a boat from the previous scene.

Opening

Jurassic Park: The Ride Universal Studios opens to the public on June 21, 1996 in Hollywood.
