Extinct Animals that we do not Know About

Extinction of a particular animal or plant species can be known as extinction when it is no longer alive anywhere in the world. This is a natural part of evolution. We can go to a museum of such animals and learn all about animals.

Dodo

The dodo is an endangered non-flying bird that migrated to the island of Mauritius east of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. Dodo’s closest genetic relative is the extinct Rodriguez Solitaire. It belongs to the pigeon and pigeon family Robin’s subfamily. The destruction of Dodo is its origin. The problem was that the ship spread throughout the island, including the rats and other animals they had brought with them, and Dodo ate the eggs and killed the birds for food. The last confirmed footage came in the 1660s.

Around 1693, its habitats were destroyed and its eggs fell prey to new predators, with the last remaining dodo being thought to have died somewhere in the rare forests of Mauritius.

Steller’s Sea Cow

Steller’s sea cow is an extinct siren described in 1741 by Georg Wilhelm Steller. At the time, it was found only around the Commander Islands in the Bering Sea between Alaska and Russia; Its range was very extensive during the Pleistocene era, and may have been previously in contact with animal and humans.
