Sentinels live on North Sentinel Island in the Andaman Islands, located in the Bay of Bengal. It is located 64 km west of the Andaman capital Port Blair on the southwest coast of the Andaman Islands. Managed by India.
The Sentinels, also known as the North Sentinel Islanders, are an indigenous people living on North Sentinel Island in the Bay of Bengal, India. They belong to a broad class of Andamanese people who have been designated as a particularly vulnerable tribal group and a list of tribes.
It covers an area of about 59.67 km2 and has an approximate square design. The beach is about 45 m wide, bordered by a forest that leads to dense tropical evergreen forests. Not only that but it is surrounded by coral reefs and has a tropical climate.
Appearance
They are 5 feet 3 inches tall and can be said to have insular dwarfism. Nutrition may simply be due to genetic inheritance. In 2014, researchers predicted that their height would range from 1.60 to 1.65 m. They also recorded their skin color as “dark, glossy black” with well-fitted teeth. They showed no signs of obesity and had very sensitive muscles.
Language
Nothing is known about the language of the Sentinels, so it is not classified. The Jarawa language is recorded as incompatible with the Sentinels language.
Age
The Sentinels are widely described as a stone age tribe, with some reports claiming they lived in solitude for more than 60,000 years.
North Sentinel island dangerous
Outsiders are also prohibited from approaching the island in order to protect the people who live there and their way of life. The complete isolation of the Sentinels people means that contact with the outside world can put them at risk.
